Before appearing in exams , practicing  these model papers will give students the idea of following below given things : 
Structure of Exam Papers :  

Structure means the over all format of the expected exam question paper.In format following below things comes:

-Sections in exam question paper e.g Section A , Section B
-Total number of questions in each section e.g Section A 35 , Section B 3
-Over all total number of question e.g 38 questions
-Number of questions that are compulsory overall and in each section to pass the examination e.g 35 Section A , 3 Section B
-Time allowed for the examination paper e.g 2hrs
-Any formula sheet or tables that will be available in the examination.

Types of questions in exams:  

1-Short questions : These questions require short answers and their length varies between few words to 2,3 lines .
2-Multiple choice questions (mcq,s) : These questions provide first half of the question with possible true false or other 2-5 possible options.Here you have to tick or choose one correct option.
3-Long questions :These questions require essay type answer , comprehensive and detailed .
4-Problem solving / computational  questions. Here you have to solve a question with corresponding calculations .
Examinable Areas / Topics: 

Although every topic of syllabus has exams relevance but some of them are most common important areas of all time.By practicing specimen exams papers you can assess and predict these topics very easily.This will help you in making a strong grip on those tricky areas.
